Fleece on Earth has been dressing infants through
size six in fun and functional clothing since 1991.
Located in central Vermont, our studio resides in
an old barn, nestled in a serene valley surrounded
by the Furnace Brook River on one side and by cows
grazing in the fields on the other.
Our designer, and the owner of Fleece
On Earth, is Bonny Dutton. She was raised here
in Vermont far from any shopping mall, yet her love
affair with fashion began when her mother taught
her to sew as a young girl. Following her passion
for fabrics, fibers, and all things "fashion",
Bonny
studied design at the Rogers and Silverman
School of Fashion Design and Merchandising at Kent
State University in Ohio. Upon graduation, she
moved to Los Angeles finding work with a children's
wear company specializing in little girl's dresses. "Throughout
my years at design school I always imagined that
I would become a designer of women's wear. I never
thought for a minute that I would end up in children's
clothing. I guess fate had other plans for me." Although
the beaches of California had their appeal, it
was the Green Mountains of Vermont that beckoned,
and Bonny returned to Vermont where she founded
Fleece On Earth.
The philosophy behind Fleece On
Earth has always been to accentuate the natural charm
of children while allowing their unique personalities
to shine 
through. Bonny's original designs have become
known for her use of sophisticated colour in simple
silhouettes, making them extremely attractive yet
never overdone. "My
inspiration is, of course, the kids themselves,
but also all the wonderful fabrics, glorious colours,
and tremendous variety of yarns available. I am,
without a doubt, a fiber-addict." Quality
materials, fit, and constuction play key roles
in defining the Fleece On Earth collection."By
using only the finest materials, my clothing is
as comfortable to wear as it is durable and easy
to care for." Bonny's company and designs
have become the sum of her interests and are at
the very core of her being. "I believe that
the joy and fun that I have in everything that
I design shines through when people view my collection.
It's hard not to see that I love what I do."
